Ross leads on Scrutiny

12th July, 2011

It is a great privilege to be asked to lead scrutiny at the City Council. I am very grateful for the support of my fellow councillors for giving me this opportunity. I look forward to working with colleagues to hold the City Mayor and his assistant mayors to account as well as developing new ideas and policies.

see what the Mercury said.

New scrutiny arrangements, approved by the full council, will make me chairman of the Overview Select Committee. The committee will include several former cabinet members and is made up of the chairs of the 6 scrutiny commissions.

I am discussing roles with colleagues and these will be allocated when Mayor Soulsby has clarified the cabinet portfolios later this week.
