Scams on the elderly and vulnerable

Dear Colleague,

I am writing to you as a fellow member of the Labour Party as part of my campaign to raise awareness about a number of scams targeted at elderly people. I first became aware of the scale of this fraud when my aunt died and we could not account for her life savings of around £40,000. She had been conned out of most of it! Read the full story here

The Leicester Mercury recently covered this on their front page after I raised the issue at a scrutiny meeting of Leicester City Council.

I am asking you to let me know if you have any experience of this and to do what you can to raise awareness to protect your friends and relatives from this fraud.
